Jonathan: The Next Evel Knievel?

I often joke that I am raising a little Evel Knievel. (Benjamin says Jonathan takes after me in this area. Don’t know where he gets that idea?!) Here’s some (really cute!) proof!

Here he is, dismounting the hammock- head first of course! He knows that Daddy will always catch him.

This past Saturday, we spent most of the day outside doing things in the backyard. Benjamin got the ladder out to put the new clothesline up, and turned his back for a few seconds. What do we look over to see? Our intrepid little monkey, climbing the ladder!

(Note: He does not get the ladder thing from me, since I have this strange fear of being on a ladder. Heights don’t bother me, but put me on an 8′ ladder and I’m pretty freaked out. I think it’s because I saw my Dad fall off a really high ladder when I was a kid, and I used to have a recurring nightmare of falling off of one of those cool tall slides that you don’t see anymore because they aren’t safe. I always woke up when I hit the ground.)

Note his climbing technique.

He made it all the way to the top, with Daddy looking on ready to catch him.

He is too cute, and so pleased with himself.
